Baby Bella's mother, boyfriend charged in Boston toddler's killing

 toddler found dead and known as Baby Doe now has a name -- Bella Bond. 
And police have arrested her mother and the woman's  boyfriend.</div>

Authorities found Bella's remains in late June in Boston Harbor, shocking residents who wondered what happened to the <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/09/us/massachusetts-dead-toddler-forensics/index.html" target="_blank">brown-eyed little girl with an angelic face</a>.</div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
Mystified authorities sought clues: Who was she? How did she die? Where were her parents?  </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
And most importantly, why would anyone kill a baby? </div>
<h3>
Mother charged</h3>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
New answers emerged Friday following charges against her mother, Rachelle Bond, 40, and her boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, 35.</div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
 He was charged with murder; she was charged as an accessory to murder 
after the fact, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said.</div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
McCarthy is not Bella's biological father, a law enforcement source said.</div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
"This child, whose very name means beauty, was murdered," Conley said. </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
"The
 tragedy of her death is compounded by the fact that her short life 
ended not by illness or accident, but we believe by an act of violence 
in the very place where she should have felt safest, in her home." </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
He declined to comment on the motive or manner of death.</div>
<h3>
She wasn't 3 yet.</h3>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
Bella Amoroso Bond was just shy of 3 years old. </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
"For
 nearly three months, we have endeavored to speak for a true innocent 
who could not speak for herself," State Police Col. Richard McKeon said.</div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
"Now we will give her justice." </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
Complicating things, the couple pointed fingers at each other over her death, Massachusetts House Speaker Robert DeLeo said. </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
"It
 appears as though it was a situation of a boyfriend who was involved 
and that apparently, I think, mother and boyfriend sort of blaming each 
other in terms of who harmed the child," he said. </div>

'Critical tip'</h3>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
Boston homicide detectives picked up the couple after they received "a critical tip" Thursday, Conley said.</div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
McCarthy
 is in custody at a Boston area hospital, where he is getting treated 
for a medical condition; Bond is detained at a separate location, 
according to the law enforcement source. </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
The arrests came after a search on a Boston home Thursday. </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
The
 state Department of Children and Families said it provided services for
 Bella in 2012 and 2013 when she was an infant following neglect 
complaints. It did not provide specific details. </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
Between
 2001 and 2006, child welfare authorities terminated Bond's parental 
rights over two other children, an agency official said. One is in 
custody of the maternal grandmother; the other was adopted by an 
unrelated family, the official said.</div>

Baby Doe</h3>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
Authorities
 found the tiny remains on June 25 wrapped in a black trash bag. She was
 wearing polka dot leggings and  lying next to a zebra blanket just east
 of Boston's Logan Airport.</div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
Police released photos of the blanket and leggings<strong>. </strong></div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
Authorities previously said they believed that Baby Doe was about 4 years old at the time of her death. </div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph">
The
 National Center for Missing & Exploited Children released a 
composite of Baby Doe in July. It was distributed via social media, 
where more than 50 million people shared it.</div>

Pollen helped provide answers</h3>

It's unclear how long she had been dead, but there was some decomposition when her remains were removed from the trash bag.</div>

Authorities analyzed pollen found on the girl's pants and blanket, and determined it came from trees and plants around Boston. </div>

 but now he’s disclosed that he has cut off his business ties with the young rapper.<br />

“In her defense, she had a lot thrown at her at one time,” the 34-year-old entertainer told <em>Ebro in the Morning</em>.
 “Any human being anywhere [is gonna] have a hard time adjusting… It 
came at a time when culturally in this nation — when she’s not from here
 — we were actually looking for a source to place that pent-up 
aggression. Some stuff they brought upon themselves. In some cases, it 
kind of was the easiest place to put some pent-up aggression.<br />

When asked when he cut off ties, he said, “Yeah, after the Q-Tip thing,” referring to when rapper <strong>Q-Tip</strong> sent tons of tweets to <strong>Iggy</strong>, schooling her on hip hop culture. Iggy was accused of misappropriating black culture in the huge resulting backlash.<br />

“After I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, ‘What is really 
meant to be said here is…’ Then, after it was cool, everything was cool.
 And then they kind of came back and undid what I had just 
[orchestrated]. Imma be all the way real: I’m a loyal partner. If I rock
 with you, I’m gon’ rock with you… Right, wrong, we’re gonna discuss 
that in the car,” <strong>T.I.</strong> continued.  “Right now, Imma 
block the bullets…” he recalled. “When I say, ‘Go?’ Go! Don’t stand 
around and tote while I’m blocking bullets. You slowing me down, you 
know what I’m saying?”<br />

“But I really do feel that they just needed a little more time to adjust, which I feel they can do,” <strong>T.I.</strong> said of <strong>Iggy </strong>and her crew. “They have the talent, they have the charisma.”<br />

Two hosts on “The View,” are receiving backlash after poking fun at 
Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson and her Miss America monologue about being a
 nurse.<br />
“...She came in in a nurse’s uniform, and basically read 
her emails out loud,” comedian and co-host Michelle Collins said of 
Johnson’s monologue, which told the story of “Joe,” an Alzheimer’s 
patient who made Johnson realize the importance of her role as his 
nurse.<br />
“Why does she have a doctor’s stethoscope on?” fellow co-host Joy Behar chimed in during the show.<br />

This is the first sight of Pierre-Paul doing anything athletic since the Fourth of July weekend fireworks accident. He had his <a href="http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2015/07/jason_pierre-paul_has_right_index_finger_amputated.html">right index finger amputated</a> and suffered serious damage to his thumb and middle finger as well.

Pierre-Paul reported to the Giants last week, several days before 
their opener, hoping the team would give him clearance to play. But the 
Giants determined <a href="http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2015/09/jason_pierre-paul_was_not_ready_to_play_giants_tom.html">he wasn't ready,</a> so Pierre-Paul returned to South Florida, where he's presumably working out.<br />

The timing of the release of this video (taped who knows when), the 
message that came along with it and those hashtags are probably not a 
coincidence.<br />

<strong>riana Grande</strong> certainly isn’t the first singer to take on the pop powerhouses of the 90s. In fact, <strong>Christina Aguilera</strong> herself tackled a <strong>Britney Spears</strong> impression a <a href="http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/02/christina-aguilera-britney-spears-impression" target="_blank">couple</a> of times earlier this <a href="http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/05/christina-aguilera-impressions-miley-cyrus-britney-spears-lady-gaga-cher" target="_blank">year</a>. But unlike that viral promotional video for <em>The Voice</em>, Grande didn’t have the benefit of wigs or costumes to help with her imitations of Aguilera, Spears, and <strong>Celine Dion.</strong> This was all vocal prowess. <br />

And the impressions are sort of astonishingly great. Britney’s early 
vocal fry-heavy style is easy enough to imitate. But it takes <em>real</em>
 power to approximate Aguilera. And the biggest surprise of all is 
Grande’s killer impression of Celine Dion. Once again, there’s a lot of 
power behind it, but the true treat is Grande’s approximation of Dion’s 
Québécois accent and light stage patter. Grande—like Spears, Aguilera, 
and <strong>Miley Cyrus</strong> before her—got her start on kids television, and it looks like those years on <em>Victorious</em> and <em>Sam & Cat</em>
 paid off. Grande, her singing chops, and her comedic knack will 
graduate to more grown-up TV next week when the bloody horror comedy <em>Scream Queens</em> premieres Tuesday, September 22 on Fox.<br />

Gary Richrath, former REO Speedwagon guitarist and songwriter, dies

Gary Richrath, a former guitarist for the classic rock band 
REO Speedwagon who also co-wrote the group's hit song "Take It on the 
Run," died Sunday, according to a publicist for the band. He was 65.<br />
Erik Stein confirmed on Monday that Richrath died but offered no details about the cause of death.<br />
Richrath
 was born in October 1949, according to public records. He was a member 
of the band when it released its self-titled debut in 1971 and was with 
REO Speedwagon until 1989.<br />
Richrath co-wrote some of the band's 
songs, including "Take It on the Run," which became a Top 5 pop hit on 
the Billboard charts.<br />
"I feel so sad. Gary was both a unique 
guitarist and songwriter, and the embodiment of the tough guy with a 
heart of gold. I learned most of what I know about being in a rock band 
from Gary Richrath," REO Speedwagon's lead singer, Kevin Cronin, wrote 
on the band's website and Facebook page. "The entire REO Family mourns 
his death and shares in the grief of his family, friends, and fans. 
These words do not come close to expressing the depth of emotions I am 
feeling at this time."<br />

<br /><br />Richrath last played with the band in 2013, when the band 
performed a benefit concert in Bloomington, Illinois, to raise money for
 tornado victims.<br />
REO Speedwagon has released a number of 
successful albums, including 1980's "Hi Infidelity," which sold 10 
million copies in the United States.<br />
Richrath released a solo album, "Only the Strong Survive," in 1992.<br />
