No. 4 Baylor opens the 2015 college football season tonight at SMU's Gerald Ford Stadium at 6 p.m. Central, with ESPN televising the game.
The Bears were 11-2 last season, tying with TCU for the Big 12 championship before falling to Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl. SMU was 1-11 last season, including a 45-0 loss to Baylor.
Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman is suspended for a violation of team rules and will not play in the game. Seth Russell makes his debut as the Bears' starting quarterback after starting one game as Bryce Petty's backup last season.
